Skills Development
Skills Development is a recreational, non-competitive, co-ed program for rowers who have completed a Learn to Row class. Participants build upon and refine their skills.
Skills is offered in the spring and fall, after-school during the week and on weekends. Rowers who are looking for more connection to the sport will be given bodyweight and mobility exercises that they can complete at home each week to improve their strength and flexibility on the water.
During the summer, athletes are encouraged to join Summer Skills Development to build on rowing technique, boat skills, safety rules of the river, and fitness.
Over the winter, Skills meets on the weekends. Athletes should be prepared with a water bottle and clothes for both indoor and outdoor activity. The winter program workouts support strength, mobility, and flexibility—aspects that are critical to rowing (and a variety of other sports)!
