Row Boston Scholars
The Row Boston Scholars (RBS) program is central to our efforts to affect long-term change in the sport of rowing by opening access to underserved and marginalized cohorts. As the financial aid program supporting high school students from public schools in Boston and Cambridge, RBS allows recipients to choose any youth program at Community Rowing that is appropriate for their age group and skill level. This integration of need-based support across all levels of youth rowing broadens the opportunities to build community through peer-to-peer socio-economic relationships, while also expanding access to the health and wellness benefits the sport offers.
To apply to be a Row Boston Scholar, students are invited to register for the youth rowing class that’s most appropriate for them and fill out the financial aid application at the end of registration. RBS applicants are not charged for the class while applying for aid.
