The Institute for Rowing Leadership was founded to equip coaches for excellence and leadership in coaching and in life. This Advanced Certificate in Rowing Leadership is a ten month, graduate-level fellowship program where fellows gain a broad rowing knowledge, and a substantial volume of experiential learning. You will be guided by reflective practice, and be supported by our vast network of instructors and mentors. You will develop the wide array of skills needed to become a successful leader and coach.
At the IRL, you can achieve excellence while pursuing your passion for coaching.

- Coaching education under the umbrella of the CRI mission, to invite athletes and coaches of all backgrounds, abilities and experience to grow through rowing. We are guided by our values of diversity, belonging and respect, personal growth and resilience.

- Over 300 classroom hours covering topics such as physiology, biomechanics, ethics, psychology, leadership, and much more!
- Hands on learning with subject matter expert instructors from preeminent universities and professions.
- Low student to teacher ratio with a maximum of 12 fellows ensures successful learning and a close knit IRL community.
- Connection between the classroom and on the water application through a guided coaching practicum and regular on-water observations.
- First and only coaching program for rowing accredited by the United States Center for Coaching Education through 2024 at Level 5
- We are dedicated to making sure that tuition is not a barrier for any candidate. For committed IRL fellows, a paid coaching position at CRI will partially or fully offset your tuition

The Institute For Rowing Leadership is accredited at the highest level (5) offered by USCCE-NCACE and is the only accredited US Coaching Education Program for the sport of rowing in the world.
