Harry Parker Boathouse
CRI is home to the largest fleet of rowing shells operated by a single boathouse in North America. Our fleet includes 20+ eight-seat boats, 20+ four-seat boats, 10+ two-seat boats, 20+ single-seat boats, and several training “barges” and introductory boats.
Our para programs use customized equipment, including modified two- and single-seat boats. Specialized equipment can also support adaptive athletes in larger team boats.
Our coaching staff uses nearly 20 wakeless and 10 flat-bottom coaching launches to help our crews navigate the Charles River safely.
Offering many different boat classes deepens our capacity to fulfill our mission. The Harry Parker Boathouse has locker rooms and showers, a fully outfitted weight room, 20 spin bikes, and 60+ rowing machines in our spacious Community Room, which is filled with natural light and overlooks the Charles River.
Instead of a membership, we ask that all participants (youth and adults) pay a facility fee. This fee allows CRI to maintain the boathouse and keep the building open, clean, and available to rowers seven days a week. Regularly scheduled programs and classes have priority for use of space and equipment.
Rowers who car-top their own boats can use our docks. To use one of CRI’s boats or coaching launches on your own, you must pass the Captain’s Test.
