CRI Coach Certification

Great coaching is at the heart of a great rowing experience. CRI Coach Certification (CCC) opens the door for coaches to succeed. 

CCC teaches new coaches how to effectively communicate, lead, and manage teams. This 40-hour certification includes online, classroom, and hands-on modules. CCC is taught by experienced CRI coaches who will be there to support new coaches. All coaches at CRI complete CCC to ensure safe practices, professionalism, and respect.

Coaches receive education on:

• Safety: Athlete Protection Policy, boat and river navigation, SafeSport, USRowing safety guidelines, and more
• Communication Skills: Establishing professionalism, setting expectations with athletes (and their families), and more
• Mission: How to establish a caring, positive, and supportive environment for athletes to succeed
• Organization Skills: Creating a effective, flexible format for planning

• Coaching Roles: 10 specific skills and qualities that help working relationships between Head and Assistant Coaches
• Teaching: Novice coxswains, proper boat handling, incorporating drills, work-life balance, and more
