Alex Lynn

Manager of Youth Recreation Programs

Alex started rowing as a freshman walk-on at Ithaca College. From there he immediately fell in love with the sport and quickly rose up to the ranks of the team, which eventually earned him the Most Valuable Oarsman award his senior year.

After graduation, he continued to stay in Ithaca, NY, where he took an offer as the Boathouse Manager and Mens’ Head Coach at Cascadilla Boat Club, in addition to coaching at Cornell Rowing Club. For three successful years, he spearheaded several varsity and novice boats to 1st-3rd place finishes at the regional and state championship level, while nearly doubling the size of the club’s membership. Since 2019, Alex has been a part of the CRI family. He graduated from the Institute of Rowing Leadership in 2020, assisting with the Tufts University Mens’ team as part of his practicum before COVID-19 prematurely ended the Spring season.

Now, Alex mainly works closely with Nonna Giunta, Director of Programs, and Javier Suarez, Middle School Indoor Rowing Manager, to lead CRI's efforts to offer broader, more inclusive programs across the spectrum of youth recreational rowing at CRI. Additionally, he is enhancing pathways for learn to row athletes to access all of CRI's youth programs from youth para, to Youth Development, RowBoston and Youth Competitive programs.
